Located a few kilometers north of the ancient temple of Uluwatu, facing the vast Indian Ocean. The seawater is crystal clear and the large waves make it one of the best places for surfing in all of Bali, as surfing lovers throughout the world have already discovered.

Tanjung Benoa
Located in Nusa Dua, this is a beautiful white sand beach area where visitors can enjoy many types of water recreation and sports such as snorkeling, parasailing, diving, boating, sailing, glass-bottom boating and more. This area is an extension of Nusa Dua Resort, with easy access to its luxurious hotel and other facilities.

Deluang Sari Turtle Farm
This farm’s goal is to promote the survival of the green turtles, which are an endangered species. The farm is located next to Tanjung Benoa, near to Nusa Dua and Jimbaran Bay. The shy turtles are kept behind bamboo fences, so that they are safe from poachers. People are now encouraged not to kill the turtles for food, in order to ensure the survival of these creatures.

Nusa Dua
It means ‘two islands’ in Bahasa Indonesia. This is one of the premier resort areas in the world. The area is located 20 minutes south of the Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar and is a short drive to many of Bali’s attractions and beautiful beaches. This is the home of many of Bali’s world-class luxury resort hotels.

Kuta
This area was once a poor fishing village with a black history of lepers and magic practitioners. Later, Kuta began to provide what visitors wanted and now the area has become a key point in the route from India through Southeast Asia to Australia. One of the primary attractions of this area is the long sweep of white sand of Kuta’s picturesque bay. A visit to Bali without the Kuta experience is not complete. The famous Kuta sunset, where one can enjoy a tranquil, balmy atmosphere along the coastline is stunning. There is a wide selection of hotels and bungalows, the nightlife is abundant, and all types of cuisine abound. There are also many recreation and sports facilities, children’s playgrounds, as well as Kuta’s perfect waves for surfing.

Bali Bomb Monument
This monument reminds us of the terrible incident, the explosion of Bali Bomb which occurred on Saturday evening October 12, 2002 at Jalan Legian, Kuta causing the death of 202 persons from 22 countries and seriously injuring another 324 people.

The horrible bomb explosion also destroyed and damaged many buildings and cars in a one-kilometer radius, and since that tragedy, tourism industry as the backbone of Bali’s economy suffered the deepest decline in its history. But owing to the dedication and hard work of all community levels, both private and government sectors, there has been gradual recovery. The monument is located at the area of explosion site (Ground Zero). The striking part of the monument is ‘Kayonan’ taking the shape of a huge white color tree leaf, as symbol of the universe, and at the lower part of kayonan there is an inscription listing the names of all dead victims of the bomb tragedy, classified in nationalities.

Jimbaran Beach
This area is just south of Kedonganan beach and has a very beautiful white sand beach area and clear seawater that is suitable for recreation and relaxation. It is quieter than its neighboring beaches and one will find nice hotels and mostly seafood served at Jimbaran’s restaurants. Jimbaran is in fact famous for its delicious seafood, particularly its typical grilled seafood with Jimbaran’s ‘secret sauce’. You’ve got to taste it to believe it.

Legian, Seminyak, Petitenget Beach
These beautiful beaches are several kilometers north of Kuta. Like its neighboring beaches, these offer a refuge for surfers. There are also many facilities for tourists as the result of the Kuta north expansion.

Kedonganan
The fishing village of Kedonganan is about 3 kilometers south of Bali International Airport, Ngurah Rai. At the northern end of the beach there is a traditional fish market and a great number of traditional ‘Jukung’ fishing boats are anchored there which present an interesting view. Enjoy the picturesque image of west Bali’s crescent beach by sailing around the gulf here in a traditional sailing boat.

Tanah Wuuk
Located off the main road and hidden behind rice fields there is the beautiful river valley of ‘Tukad Penet’, just 2 kilometers north of Sangeh, a holy monkey forest. It is a very quiet and private place to enjoy the pristine nature.

Pelaga/Petang
Located 800 meters above sea level, about 45 kilometers north of Denpasar at the northernmost point of Badung Regency. Both villages present interesting agro tourism areas due to their intact ecology. Their vast horticulture of vegetables, coffee, vanilla, corn and more add to the beauty of the sights and their charming atmosphere.

Sangeh “Monkey Forest”
Sangeh is the village whose northern part covers about 14 hectares of a holy homogeny forest of ‘Pala’ trees with hundreds of monkey inhabitants. The trees cannot be found on any other part of Bali and their existence in this village remains a mystery. Look for a lovely mossy temple, which is hidden amongst the tall and gracious ‘Pala’ trees.

Nung-Nung Waterfall
A small village about 40 kilometers north of Denpasar, about 900 meters above sea level. At this village, a 50-meter high waterfall can be found as well as expansive rice terraces just around the road intersection to the waterfall. Walk about 2 kilometers off the beaten track and pass through lush green trees and plantations.

Waka Tangga
Everyone has a mountain they have to climb. In Petang district of Bali, there is a mountain called Puncak Tedung. Waka Tangga will take you there on a special journey to a special place, to climb that mountain. Your journey takes you deep into the Balinese countryside.

Ayung River Rafting
The river Ayung is the longest and largest river in Bali, and along this river, white water rafting was first introduced in Bali. To experience rafting on the river Ayung’s west side is amazing, for besides the enjoyment of challenging rapids, the panorama of this beautiful, intact nature area is highlighted by the appearance of wild animals along the rafting route such as big bats, black monkeys, and more.

Uluwatu Temple
At the westernmost tip of Bukit Peninsula, this is one of Bali’s nine ‘directional’ Kayangan Jagat temples. The location is dramatic, perched on the edge of a high cliff with a picturesque sunset view. The temple was first used for worship by the 11th century holy priest, Empu Kuturan, who came to Bali to bring religious law and to form Desa Adat (traditional villages). The area where spectacular sunsets can be viewed is filled with the scent of frangipani blossoms and is also the home of friendly monkeys.

Petitenget Temple
Peti Tenget temple and beach is located at Banjar Batubelig, Kerobokan village kecamatan Kuta. To reach this object by motor vehicle from Denpasar, travel westwards more or less 10 km then turn south, or to the north from Kuta following Raya Seminyak Street.

Peti Tenget temple was built in the 15th century and it used to be a plot of extraordinary holy (Tenget) land, bush growth and dwelled by the I Bhuta Ijo demon that was trusted by Holy priest, Dang Hyang Nirartha to safeguard his holy box. The story is told that when the priest stayed at south port (now Uluwatu), a man from Kerobokan village came asking the priest for help. He wished to cultivate the plot of land without feeling fear. The priest suggested that the people build a temple dedicated to god ‘Labuhan Masceti’ and a single closed shrine (Pagedongan) for Bhuta Ijo as a place to safeguard the priest’s box (Peti). From that time on, the temple was named Peti Tenget Temple.

Sadha Temple
This temple, with decorative carvings, is famous for its intricacy and ingenuity. Dating from the Majapahit period, this originally was an old dynastic sanctuary (prasada) of Mengwi Royalty. The split gate and a 16-meter high tower inside the temple are constructed much like ‘Candi’ in Java. The 64 stone seats, similar to megalithic ancestral shrines, commemorate warriors who died in battle.

Taman Ayun Temple
‘Taman Ayun’ means beautiful garden, located in the village of Mengwi, 18 km west of Denpasar. It is indeed one of Bali’s most picturesque temples. The king of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Anom, built its stately proportioned courtyards and large surrounding moat in the year 1634. Containing both the Royal family ancestral shrines and the storied MERU shrines to the major deities, Taman Ayun became the main temple for the ancient kingdom of Mengwi.
